2.1 Foundations

Once the earthworks and excavations required to pour the surface foundations have been completed (see specialized article in this treatise) and the ground is suitable for the planned construction, the foundation work begins with the pouring of a concrete base on top of which the foundation concrete will be poured: gutters or threaded footings along the length of the building's load-bearing walls (see DTU 12 and 13.11).

This precaution is essential in the case of reinforced concrete (footings, stringers, etc.) due to the risk of corrosion of the reinforcement.
