 INTRODUCTION

With the exception of the use of concrete for foundations and ring beams, or for reinforcing masonry at specific points, the material in this article on the implementation of structures is taken, with explanatory comments, from the DTU Maçonnerie, in addition to the indications already given in the Maçonnerie article. However, we felt it necessary to add special provisions for retaining walls and plasterwork, which are highly specific both in terms of the parts of the building concerned and the nature of the materials used.
