1.1 Exterior coatings based on hydraulic binders

The application of traditional renderings, which in most cases are prepared on site, is defined in DTU 26.1.

It is characterized by the definition of "recipes" for the composition of the mortar in each layer (proportion of each component in the mixture of sand and binder), but above all by a chronology of execution, the time between each layer, the respect of which is essential for the subsequent performance of the work. These principles - choice and quality of constituents, overall dosages degressive from the substrate outwards and drying time between each application - make the qualities and skills of the coater in charge of the application all the more crucial.
