7. Theoretical transport capacity
This is the number of people that can theoretically be transported in one hour.
To determine this capacity, we consider that, over a step depth of 0.40 m or over a visible length of tray or belt of 0.40 m, there are :
1 person for a width of 0.60 m ;
1.5 persons for a width of 0.80 m ;
2 people for a width of 1.00 m.
Depending on the speed v, expressed in m/s, the theoretical capacity C, is given by the formula :
