1. Electrical safety rules for wet environments
The bathroom is a wet room and is subject to special safety rules defined in the NF C15-100 standard.
All electrical supplies to the bathroom must be protected by a differential device and an earth line. This is mandatory for new buildings, but strongly recommended for renovation projects, to ensure the safety of the user, his family and friends.
To be protected, the circuit-breaker, or differential switch with 30 mA sensitivity, must be installed outside the protective volumes surrounding a bath or shower tray.
