3.1 Lime properties

Lime possesses a wide range of properties that are exploited in very diverse fields, far beyond the scope of construction and civil engineering. In addition, the lime industry's mastery of production processes has enabled it to develop qualities of quicklime, hydrated lime, milk of lime, magnesian and dolomitic lime, as well as limestone, whose composition and physico-chemical properties can now be modulated according to the application concerned.
