5. Main applications

Aerated concrete can be used to manufacture products for the construction industry:

• the blocks and their accessories (figure 16 ) can be used to build walls:

  • external carriers,

  • interior load-bearing walls,

  • basement carriers,

  • filling in the facade,

  • façade curtains (covering an existing structure),

  • partitioning,

  • large-scale firestops ;

• large vertical reinforced elements (figure
