5. Triangulation frames with eccentric bars
5.1 Reminders
The analysis of frames with eccentric bar triangulation does not present the difficulties encountered in frames with centric bar triangulation, as the dissipative zones are not located in bars subjected to alternating buckling/plastic tension under cyclic action. Diagonals are not dissipative. They are designed to be over-resistant to the "eccentric sections" or "seismic links" that plasticize in bending and/or shear (see figure
