1. Monorail beams – Terminology

This article complements [C 2 518] . We will not repeat the common elements, except to specify them succinctly in the context of the present article, nor the definitions common to both articles.

1.1 Pallet carts or pallet carts

Carts are hoists designed to travel on running beams; when they travel on the bottom flange of the running beam, they are called suspended carts (see figure 1 a).
