1. Traditional bolts
A traditional bolt is an assembly consisting of a screw, threaded along all or part of its length, a nut and, where applicable, one or two washers. In metal construction, the most common screw heads are hexagonal, but there are also screws with countersunk circular heads. Both types are shown in figure 1 .
