3. Removal of engineering structures

The term "engineering structure" covers a considerable number of structures. It is not possible to cover the whole spectrum of demolition work. In this section, we will focus on the general principles of this type of work, illustrating them with two projects of completely different sizes. One is the demolition of a motorway structure, the other the complete removal of the vault of an airport building.
