2. Shooting plan design

Designing a blast plan involves defining the drilling geometry, mine loading and initiation dates. Basically, it consists of ensuring :

  • 1 the normal operation of the charges to provide them with a suitable free surface and clearance volume: this involves controlling the operation of the blast, mine by mine: this principle is governed by so-called efficiency rules. The processes of fragmentation (propagation of shockwaves and gases) and rock displacement (swelling of the massif) must have time to take place;

  • 2 correct product operation, avoiding problems of explosive desensitization (inability to initiate);
