2. Eco-design principles
Eco-design of the built environment is understood as the set of tools and methodologies that minimize the environmental impact inherent in any construction.
While the introduction of this approach is new for the sector, other industrial activities have been practicing it for several decades with some success. The automotive industry, for example, manufactures products with a very high recycling rate, thus minimizing the use of natural resources, just as the design of its engines is more energy-efficient.
