4. After the work: acceptance, warranties, maintenance

The public works project does not end with the construction work, nor with acceptance and commissioning.

Work related to the guarantee of perfect completion and subsequent intervention on the structure are generally the responsibility of the site management team.

Although all public works projects in France are subject to ten-year (Article 1792 of the Civil Code) and thirty-year (Articles 1382 and 2262 of the Civil Code) guarantees, companies do not usually insure themselves against the corresponding risks, given the amount of the premiums charged. The organization must therefore provide for rigorous archiving (contractual documents, meeting minutes, service orders, etc.) over a very long period of time, so that it can understand and respond to any problems with the structure that may arise many years after it has been put into service....
