1. Main financing organizations

For the purposes of this article, we will focus on three major international financing organizations, among many others, for foreign works contracts:

  • World Bank Group;

  • European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ;

  • the European Development Fund.

1.1 World Bank

The World Bank is a group of two institutions dedicated to providing technical and financial assistance to developing countries (table 1 ):

  • IBRD;

  • IDA.
