Pavements are public works and civil engineering structures designed primarily for vehicular traffic, providing conditions of speed, safety (flatness, superelevation, curvature, drainage, skid resistance), comfort (uniformity, low noise, low glare, etc.) and durability (mechanical resistance to stress and wear, freezing, thawing, etc.).
