3. Transport platforms or material lifts with accompanying personnel

3.1 Description

It's a hybrid piece of equipment designed on the basis of a material hoist that allows access for personnel. It is also known as a "multifunction platform" or an "attendant material lift".

The transport platform is designed for transporting materials and personnel accompanying loads. This equipment has been regulated by the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC since December 29, 2009.

Transporting personnel and equipment to different levels, material lifts are similar to construction site elevators.

They are excluded from the Machinery Directive and, like elevators, must comply with the modified decree of July 10, 1913, of which only articles 11, 11a to 11i remain.
