6. Application devices

6.1 Gas appliance conformity (GZ 26)

Gas appliances must bear the CE mark, issued in accordance with the amended Order of August 12, 1991 implementing the amended Directive 90/396/EEC on gas appliances.

Gas appliances not falling within the scope of the above-mentioned order may be admitted if they benefit from either :

  • CE marking for industrial heating equipment covered by the amended Machinery Directive 89/392/EEC;

  • prior approval from the Minister for Gas Safety. Such approval is not required for gas appliances whose nominal heat output does not exceed 5 kW.
