3.1 Maintenance: an essential act
Crane maintenance is an essential part of the construction process. If a crane breaks down, the whole site can come to a standstill, with all the consequences that entails. Equipment maintenance is essential, whatever the nature of the equipment. Even more than other equipment, a tower crane can be a fragile machine requiring special maintenance, carried out by competent, trained personnel.
When a site is opened, the first thing to do is to make sure that a copy of all the documents relating to the operation of the equipment located on the site is in the site office, and to make sure that any equipment arriving is accompanied by a copy of the operating and maintenance manual, the contents of which the mechanic or site manager...
