3. Coordinator

3.1 Function management

The coordinator's status, like that of the architect and technical controller, is defined by law, in this case Act no. 93-1418 of December 31, 1993.

This clearly specifies that the safety coordinator is involved in cases of inter-company coactivity, including subcontractors.

The coordinator function can be carried out either by a natural person or by a legal entity: in the latter case, no skills are required other than the ability to entrust the coordination function to a competent natural person.

The decree of December 26, 1994 validated the position of technical inspectors, recognizing their ability to act as coordinators.
