3. Payment for work
The primary obligation of the client, whether public or private, is to pay for the work he has commissioned.
Article 1710 of the French Civil Code states that "le louage d'ouvrage is a contract by which one of the parties undertakes to do something for the other in return for a price agreed between them". This definition corresponds to what is also known as a "contract of enterprise".
The rule in this type of contract is freedom of contract. The parties are free to determine the terms of payment. They may also decide to submit to the standard NF P03-001 They therefore sign it and attach it to the contract.
