7.1 Choosing a fan

7.1.1 Qualities required

For a technique involving the use of a fan, the fan must :

  • be robust, as it will run continuously;

  • be protected from the risk of condensation in the ducts, which can damage the fan;

  • weatherproof if placed outdoors.

There are three main fan families: axial fans, centrifugal fans and helical-centrifugal or tubular fans.
