5. Pardek system from Zoontjens

5.1 Constituent elements

This system combines four main elements:

• a single-layer SBS-modified asphalt waterproofing membrane;

• an extruded expanded polystyrene insulation with high crush resistance, Polyfoam C500 from Knauf (minimum 500 kPa for 10% crush);

• large recycled rubber pads to distribute the weight of the slabs and rolling loads evenly;

• 90 × 90 cm concrete slabs weighing 160 kg each, which are therefore handled by forklift trucks that can travel over the elements already in place (as shown in figure
