9. Conclusion

Sewage and black water drains are essential elements in a single-family home. They must be of the highest quality, both in terms of materials and installation, because a leak or blockage can cause major damage and prevent the home from being used.

If your home cannot be connected to the mains sewage system, it must comply with regulations and be inspected by the SPANC (Service public d'assainissement non collectif), a local public service responsible for advising and assisting private individuals in setting up and inspecting their own sanitation systems.
