2. Installations

Electrical equipment must be chosen so as to withstand in complete safety the stresses and environmental conditions specific to the place where the equipment is installed and to which it may be subjected.

Every installation should be divided into several circuits as required to facilitate checks, tests and maintenance.

Separate distribution circuits must be provided for those parts of the installation that need to be controlled separately, so that these circuits are not affected by the failure of other circuits.

An electrical installation must have a sufficient number of points of use to meet the normal needs of users.

All circuits must have a protective conductor. These protective conductors must be connected to the installation's main terminals or main earth bars (see standard 542.4)....
