6. Maintenance
The longer a floor covering is maintained, the longer it will last.
It can be as simple as vacuuming or damp mopping, as long as you do it regularly.
Brushes should not be used on non-textile floor coverings, as they pick up dust which then settles to the floor and impedes perfect cleaning. The only acceptable solution is a mop.
Less frequent – but still regular – Textile floor coverings also deserve a thorough cleaning, which can be carried out using a number of different techniques,
The injection-extraction technique, for example, injects a detergent solution into the pile under pressure, and simultaneously vacuums it up so that the carpet doesn't get soaked.
A variant of this technique injects a carbonated detergent whose activation will lift the dust deposited...
