2. Heating and cooling networks

2.1 General

The French district heating industry is a dynamic one, and an essential tool for regional energy planning.

Launched in 2018 by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity, the Renewable Energy Liberation Plan aims to deploy renewable energies by simplifying their regulatory framework. To give itself the means to do so, the ministry has launched working groups on each of the renewable energy sectors.

In March 2019, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Ecological Transition and Solidarity launched a "Heat and cooling networks" working group to bring together the players concerned to identify and remove the obstacles to the development of the sector.
