3. How to protect yourself against burglary

For new single-family homes or new buildings, the minimum criteria set out in section 2 apply. These criteria can be increased at the owners' request.

In the case of an older home, the criteria in section 2 can be implemented by the owner to improve security.

In each case, it's a good idea to inform the insurer of the "Home Insurance" contract, as the amount of the premium varies according to the degree of protection of the dwelling.

In this section, glazed offices and ground-floor stores, which require special protection, will not be taken into account.
