3. Materials making up the use surface

Textile floor coverings have developed according to :

  • the manufacturing technique: tufted carpet or tufting ;

  • the use of chemical fibers, especially synthetics.

3.1 Textile components

The materials used are mainly :

  • polyamides (PA) BCF – Bulked Continuous Filament ;

  • polyamides (PA) fibers ;

  • polyesters (PE) ;

  • acrylics (PC) ;

  • polypropylenes (PP) ;

  • wool (WO);

  • viscose (VI) and miscellaneous.
