4. Conclusion

The ageing of lithium-ion batteries remains a central technical challenge for many industries, including electric mobility, renewable energy storage and consumer electronics. Although these batteries have revolutionized the way we consume and store energy, the limitations associated with their progressive degradation continue to hamper their widespread use. The electrochemical mechanisms responsible, such as SEI growth, electrode material degradation and lithium metal deposition, underline the complexity of this issue.

However, the future of lithium-ion batteries is marked by a dynamic of constant innovation. Researchers continue to explore new approaches to improve battery longevity, reduce environmental impact and optimize performance.
