5. Conclusion

Today, electrical, IT, audiovisual and telecommunications equipment has invaded all areas of human activity, including industry, crafts, the service sector and home automation.

This accelerated technological development has led to the emergence of increasingly high-performance equipment, but its vulnerability to the effects of lightning remains a major concern, which can have consequences for its availability and the quality of service offered.

In this context, lightning is still the subject of a great deal of research and standardization work. These studies focus mainly on thunderstorm phenomena and how to protect against their harmful effects.
