5. VHDL-AMS configuration principle
In various industries, "configuration management" refers to the set of tools used to track the evolution of technical modifications to a device over its lifetime, by tracking the references of the objects involved in its construction. For example, based on your vehicle's serial number, the repairer will be able to retrieve from the manufacturer's database the references of shock absorbers, alternators, fuses, etc., which have evolved as the product has been continuously improved.
Wikipedia's definition is: "Configuration management consists in managing the technical description of a system (and its various components), as well as managing all the modifications made during the system's evolution. Configuration management is used to manage complex systems."
