4. Conclusion
Supercapacitors are used as sources for high-power demands lasting from a few seconds to tens of seconds. They can withstand around 1,000 times more charge/discharge cycles than batteries. What's more, they can supply or absorb a very high current, which is very important for energy recovery during braking, for example. All these advantages mean that supercapacitors are used in many applications today, boosting the efficiency of the systems in which they are integrated, particularly hybrid and fuel cell vehicles. However, the major drawback of these power buffer storage elements is their still relatively high price.
