1. Particles in plasma

1.1 Definition

Gas plasmas are a mixture of electrons, ions and neutral particles. Since electrons have a much lower mass than other particles :

m _H /m _e = 1,836

with :

m _H: mass of a hydrogen atom (lightest atom)
m _e: electron mass,

ions and neutrals are called heavy particles....
