2. Power supply for electric ovens

2.1 A reminder of regulations and standards

French standard NF C 15-100 relating to low-voltage installations applies to the construction and operation of electric resistance furnaces. In particular, it defines safety and operating rules according to the power supply conditions of the installations.

For leakage currents (they only concern operating conditions and not personnel safety), it specifies:

"Industrial heaters with low insulation are generally supplied via two-winding transformers or separate-winding motor-generator units when leakage currents from these heaters can interfere with the operation of the installations supplying them.
