4. Conclusion
Most of the world's automakers are currently preparing to launch fuel cell vehicles on the market in the short to medium term. The first to offer small-series vehicles are Hyundai and Toyota. The latter has joined forces with BMW to produce vehicles by 2020. General Motors and Honda joined forces in 2013 to jointly develop a fuel cell powertrain and production chain, with the aim of mass production in 2020. Before that, the two automakers plan to make small series available as early as 2016. Daimler, Ford and Nissan followed suit in 2013, with a production target of 2017. French automakers PSA and Renault have chosen to invest in the development of battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in recent years.
