5. Conclusion
From the outset, the construction of LV overhead networks using insulated twisted cable has constantly confirmed the advantages of this technique in terms of equipment behavior and reliability, overall economic performance, safety and integration of structures into the environment, leading to its gradual generalization and the abandonment of the construction of LV overhead networks using bare conductors in the mid-1980s.
Since the technique is now well mastered, including for live working connections, recent improvements have focused on materials and equipment, such as the development of polyethylenes used for conductor insulation, the addition of a fuse function for the suspension assembly, the improvement of network and connection connectors with regard to the live working aspect, and the development of on-load connection terminals and connection group boxes....
