6. Conclusion

The use of lightning arresters is expanding rapidly, driven by both growing demand and technical advances. Surge arresters are no longer considered mysterious objects. Standardizers and manufacturers have set out to simplify concepts and use, while guaranteeing efficiency and reliability. All that remains is to choose and install the surge arrester correctly, and this is where the specialized installer makes the difference. The 50 cm cabling rule and the rule not to exceed 10 m between the arrester and the equipment to be protected are the two fundamental rules, along with the need to coordinate the energy and protection levels of arresters on the same circuit.
