The core of how all-solid-state batteries work is based on the transfer of lithium ions through a solid electrolyte (figure 1 ). Unlike the flammable liquid electrolytes used in traditional batteries, solid electrolytes are non-flammable, which significantly reduces the risk of thermal runaway while preventing electrolyte leakage if the battery is subjected to shock
