6. Implementation

6.1 Shape and size

Rotational shapes are the most common, but any shape is possible, particularly a polyhedron (cube, etc.) or a sphere. Rotational symmetry is preferred for several reasons:

  • lower manufacturing costs and improved structural integrity (edges can chip and alter the resonance frequency);

  • Simplified calculation of the resonance frequency.

Ring-shaped structures are useful for eliminating parasitic TM mode
