2. Preventive EMC analysis
2.1 General approach
The starting point for any EMC design work must be based on a preliminary analysis of the various risks that will need to be addressed in order to develop a coherent plan for meeting these requirements. The EMC performance of a piece of equipment depends on the functions used, but also on their integration and links with the PCB, mechanics, wiring and vehicle architecture, and software, as illustrated in Figure 1 . The preliminary work must identify, based on the functions used, which interactions with other disciplines, such as mechanics or software, are strong and necessary.
