3.1 OpenCL
OpenCL (Open Computing Language) was originally the result of an effort by Apple teams to simplify multicore development. Apple subsequently promoted its adoption by giving management of the OpenCL specification to the Khronos Group consortium, which also manages the OpenGL specification. The aim of the Khronos Group is to produce specifications that are made public and freely usable on a large number of platforms (ARM, Intel, AMD, NVIDIA).
