4. Conclusion
In this article, we have attempted to demonstrate the principle and wealth of applications of holography in the field of microwaves. We first looked at the principles of optical holography in coherent and incoherent light, then at the principles of microwave holography and the links that exist with radar and communications techniques.
The applications of this microwave holography are extremely varied. They range from terrestrial and space mapping to buried object detection and airport scanners. There are also applications in healthcare, in the fields of brain imaging and stroke detection. More recently, developments have been made in holographic antennas and holographic encrypted communications.
Finally, we must not forget that we may be living in a giant holographic universe according to the holographic principle.
