2.1 Mixing principles: modulation, demodulation, phase comparison

Two signals X 1 = A 1 cos(ω 1 t + φ 1 ) and X 2 = A 2 cos(ω 2 t + φ 2 ) are applied to the input of a mixing cell (figure 8 ). If the response of this cell is quadratic (Y = X + X 2 ), the output is written as :
