4. Artificial non-reciprocal time-independent structures

One of the shortcomings of the classic non-reciprocal structures seen previously (§ 3.3 ) is their bulkiness due to the magneto-optical material core used. To overcome this drawback, the non-linearity properties of diodes, transistors and amplifiers have been used in the manufacture of integrated non-reciprocal structures. Examples are given below.
