2. Two interacting disciplines
Any industrial project of any size involves a number of players who need to coordinate their efforts and, to do so, exchange information crucial to the project's success. A typical example of such formalized exchanges is that of the project owner and the prime contractor(s), who must exchange specifications in one direction, and technical specifications, design files and supporting documentation in the other (cf. RG AERO 0040 and T7-700). This is also the case between the SoF (operational safety) and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) players, even if they are not necessarily linked by a project owner-prime contractor relationship.
