It is now accepted by the entire scientific community that the range of terahertz electromagnetic waves typically extends between frequencies 0.1 and 10 THz. Let's recall the definitions of the energy E of a photon and the resulting relationships between frequency ν and wavelength λ :

E = hν = ℏ ω = \frac{hc}{λ} = k_{B} T \Leftrightarrow ν = \frac{ω}{2}
