5. Conclusion

We're in the early days of the Internet of Things, and there are still a lot of open questions; the ecosystem needs to be structured. While new players are appearing to simplify usage, others are disappearing because they have not been able to evolve and adopt standards. A parallel can be drawn with the emergence of the Web, which revolutionized the Internet in the mid-1990s. The first pages were sketchy, composed by hand, and then came companies like Facebook, which democratized their use by offering innovative new services.

The Internet of Things is looking for new players, and business models have yet to be found.
