5. "5G & Broadcast

From 2015 to 2017, the EBU/UER (European Broadcasting Union/Union Européenne de Radio-Télévision) initiated an active approach and projects to include broadcast in the development of 3GPP standards on 5G. This cooperation has resulted in the gradual inclusion of functions and techniques for the hybridization of Broadband and Broadcast, to enable the distribution of linear television and radio (by broadcasting a continuous stream of programs), to 3GPP-compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, Internet boxes (home gateways) and connected vehicles.
