2. Netconf configuration protocol

2.1 Introduction

Netconf is the potential successor to the SNMP (v1, v2c, v3) and CLI (command line interface) protocols, both widely used in IP network supervision and well known to network administrators. It takes advantage of the best of both protocols, and is also open to recent technologies revolving around the XML tagging language.
